MyBinding.com Joins The Ecommerce Mafia

TheEmob, a group of leading ecommerce retailers, welcomes new charter member MyBinding.com

HILLSBORO, OR, May 14, 2012 – MyBinding.com, one of the country's leading internet retailers of document finishing machines and supplies, recently became a charter member of The Emob (www.TheEmob.org). The Emob is a newly formed trade group of medium-sized online etailers. The premise of this novel collaboration is to provide member businesses with a competitive edge, a place to share experiences and advice for the greater good of all of their members, while having some fun by adding an element of gaming and mafia lingo.

"It has never been easier to open an online store," said Eli Katz, CEO and co-founder of TheEmob. "It has also never been harder to operate one.”

Ben Kirshner, CEO of CoffeeForLess.com and TheEmob co-founder, elaborated: "None of us is as smart as all of us. Even the most experienced and seasoned ecommerce operators are facing a rapidly evolving and changing environment. Our goal is to create a climate where senior executives can communicate with each other efficiently and candidly.”

TheEmob is the brainchild of Katz and fellow Emobster (as members are affectionately called) Kirshner. They founded The Emob as an answer to the challenges faced by mid-sized etailers. With such a huge variety of options for vendors, technology, and other services, it can be hard to know which one is the best. And finding legitimate, quality reviews can be difficult. With TheEmob, businesses are coming together to share experiences and knowledge. Since no one has an agenda, the reviews from the other members are trustworthy and often come from personal experience.

MyBinding.com has been selling online since 2003. Since that time, they have seen exponential growth as well as weathered normal bumps in the road. The knowledge gained through these experiences makes them a better Emobster. Jeff McRitchie, VP of Marketing for MyBinding.com, has already jumped into the interaction side of Emob. The more you participate, the more "Cred" you earn; McRitchie has already earned the title "Knuckle Duster" with more cred than anyone one other than Katz.

"We are happy to be working with MyBinding.com," said Katz during an interview. "In TheEmob family, Jeff's an earner. We really appreciate all of his contributions. The communication and reviews he and others provide is the reason for TheEmob in the first place. I think MyBinding.com personifies many of our members, a fast growing, eight figure ecommerce business."

MyBinding.com joined TheEmob.org in part because they support the many reasons TheEmob was formed. One is illustrated in the forums: businesses coming together to collaborate and share, to help steer members in the right direction. Another is to organize a place for vendors to save time and money by offering a deal exclusive to the Emobsters. TheEmob is also looking forward to natural expansion as their numbers grow, including an upcoming job board. Even so, they limit their partners to businesses they believe will be a good fit. TheEmob is looking for participants, not just members. The more feedback they receive from their friends of the family, the better their site will be.

"I'm excited about the collaboration with other etailers," said McRitchie. "It's a great opportunity to network and learn from the experiences as well as challenges faced by other companies. It will be interesting to see TheEmob evolve over time as more retailers join and give their input."
