Explosive Growth Propels Print-Centric Company MyBinding onto Inc 5000

For the second consecutive year, MyBinding.com has been honored on the Inc. 5000.

HILLSBORO, OR (September 5, 2012) MyBinding.com, one of the Internet's leading document finishing supply companies, has been named to the Inc. 5000 for the second year in a row. Inc. magazine's illustrious compilation of the fastest growing private companies in the US is a high honor for any company, especially one flourishing in an industry presumed to be dead.

“We are really proud to have made the Inc. 5000 two years in a row,” said Jeff McRitchie, VP of Marketing. “Our success even through a recession is proof that the print industry is alive and well.”

Inc. magazine started this list 30 years ago as a way to give recognition to the top companies in the US. To be eligible, companies must have had a minimum of $100,000 in revenue in 2008 and grown to at least $2 million in revenue in 2011. They also must be privately-held companies. Over the years, many notable brands have shown up on the Inc. 500|5000 including 7 Eleven, Toys'R'Us, Zappos, Microsoft, Jamba Juice, and more. The 2012 list saw the addition of Levi Strauss, Publix, and Facebook.

The Editor-in-Chief of Inc. magazine, Eric Schurenburg, considers this year's inclusions particularly exceptional. "To rank among the 2012 Inc. 5000, your company had to thrive through three of the toughest years this economy has seen in living memory."

The companies on the current list represent active, growing businesses that know how to work both hard and smart. This year's list includes over 20 companies with the word “print” in the title, with many others in the same industry. It is a popular notion that print is on its way out. However, businesses all over the country are finding that meeting today's communication needs still includes, if not demands, using multiple forms of print material alongside other mediums. While many companies are moving to online marketing efforts, studies have shown that a tangible printed item still drives sales, even if that item now directs people to look online rather than at a physical catalog.

Noted print futurist Sandy Hubbard stated in a recent interview that “It might be true that parts of the print industry aren’t as popular. The medium many people use to read or find their news is now dominated by the digital world. But look around you, print is everywhere – proposals, menus, street signs. This is a viable, thriving industry.”

MyBinding offers a variety of products designed to work with printed materials. Binding machines, spines, covers, and supplies allow the creation of professional proposals, training materials, photobooks, and more. Laminators can be used to create point-of-sale displays and other signage. And various styles of paper cutters trim down business cards, labels, scrapbook materials, and many other paper products. Without a healthy printing industry, none of these products would be necessary.
