Massive blogging experiment involves over 1,700 new posts in 72 days

MyBindingBlog-bm-content-1 Hillsboro, OR, April 13, 2010 – Internet retailer MyBinding.com recently unveiled its revamped blog, MyBindingBlog.com, complete with a great new look. Now the company is publishing one new blog post per hour 24 hours a day for 72 days straight. MyBinding.com’s Director of Marketing Jeff McRitchie says it’s an experiment to see how an onslaught of content affects web traffic. The company also wants to have a wealth of information all in one place.

“We have a lot of great content that our customers can use and there’s more to come,” McRitchie said. “But what we really want to see is if throwing that much information out there has a positive impact on traffic to our blog and to our website.”

The company’s main website, which can be seen at MyBinding.com, has one of the largest selections of document finishing machines and supplies on the Internet. The blog currently contains reviews of these products, as well as informational articles about how to use them.

“There are a lot of posts on the blog right now, but we have so much more we want to publish,” McRitchie said. “We have two staff writers who are frantically preparing new content for this experiment.”

The company began publishing the new posts on Monday, April 12, 2010. McRitchie estimates that approximately 1,728 new posts will appear by the time the experiment ends on Wednesday, June 23. He also said the company is eager to see how that amount of blogging will affect the company’s search engine rankings and to see how many new customers the experiment will bring.

“In this era of search engine optimization, content is key and your search engine rankings are incredibly important especially if you sell things over the Internet,” said McRitchie. “We are hopeful our experiment will expand our online presence and earn us new customers. There is a lot of great information on the blog that will help potential customers to determine which products best suit their needs. We also want to provide information for our current customers so that they have one place to go for the information that they need. ”

MyBinding.com is located in Hillsboro, Oregon a suburb of Portland. It is a division of Information Management Services, Inc. which has been in the document finishing business for more than 10 years. The company offers one of the largest selections of binding machines, laminators, andpaper shredders on the Internet.
