MyBinding.com takes pride in giving back to the community and this past week, we were able to help the needy in a big way. On November 23 – the day before Thanksgiving – company representatives delivered 2,621 pounds of food to the Oregon Food Bank’s Beaverton location. That may seem like a lot of food and it is, especially since we originally aimed to donate 2,500 pounds of food.
You might be wondering how we were able to donate so much and it’s simple: the donations came from our employees. Employees were divided up into five teams based on department and prizes were given out weekly to the team that bought in the most food. People brought in a variety of food items ranging from canned spaghetti sauce to fruit juice, boxed pasta to canned tuna. Some employees even brought in large bags of rice to be repackaged at the Oregon Food Bank. In the end, the Marketing team won, having brought in 1,207 pounds of food.
Company representatives drove to the Oregon Food Bank last Wednesday to make the donation. You can see one of the pictures taken on that day below. Our donation will be featured in the Oregon Food Bank’s upcoming newsletter and you can count on us to do more to help the community in the future.
