MyBinding.com Strives to Donate 2,500 Pounds of Food to the Oregon Food Bank

Donate-2500-Pounds-bm-content-1 The holidays are rapidly approaching and MyBinding.com is doing its part to help the less fortunate. The Inc. 5000 company is currently running a food drive to benefit the Oregon Food Bank. But the company isn’t just planing on donating a couple of boxes of food. It’s ambitiously aiming to donate 2,500 pounds of food on November 23, 2011. That may seem like an unattainable goal, but the company thinks it’s definitely doable thanks to the generosity of its employees…and a little friendly competition.

“Things have gotten off to a bit of a slow start,” said Kristana Fruci, MyBinding.com’s General Services Administration Specialist and food drive organizer. “But we are encouraging some friendly competition among the departments so we can easily reach our goal.”

The company has been divided into five teams consisting of members from the Accounting, Administration, Marketing, Sales, and Warehouse departments. The Accounting team has brought in the most food so far, followed by the Administration and Marketing teams. The members of the department that brings in the most food this week will each receive a Starbucks gift card. At the end of the food drive, the department with the most donations will receive $300.00 to be split evenly among its members. The company as a whole will enjoy a pizza party if the 2,500-pound goal is reached.

“This is a really fun event for our company because everyone is involved,” said Jeff McRitchie, Vice-President of Marketing for MyBinding.com. “We are also proud to have the chance to do something to help the community.”

Fruci said that company representatives plan on delivering the food to the Oregon Food Bank’s Beaverton location on the morning of November 23. Since that is the day before Thanksgiving, Fruci anticipates that some employees may even donate frozen turkeys.

“It would be great if we could donate turkeys the day before Thanksgiving,” said. Fruci. “After all, everyone deserves a turkey on Thanksgiving.”
