MyBinding.com Supports Local Hillsboro Girls Softball Association
MyBinding.com helps out local girls softball league again for the sixth year in a row.
HILLSBORO, OR, April 11, 2012 - MyBinding.com, one of the country's leading retailers of document finishing machines and supplies, is supporting a Hillsboro-based girls softball league. The Hillsboro Girls Softball Association (HGSA) relies on their sponsors to keep their teams running every season.
"Sponsors are a key part of our success each year," said Tarragon Agostini, a current HGSA board member. "We rely on them to help support our girls in a variety of ways. Without sponsorship, girls softball wouldn't happen."
HGSA organizes teams all around the Hillsboro area. They started many years ago as the Pigtail/Ponytail league and have grown into a large organization. In an average year, over six hundred girls play on more than 50 teams coached by at least two or three coaches, sometimes more. The teams play at fields spread throughout Hillsboro city limits and the spring season culminates in a weekend tournament at the end of June. Sponsor support keeps the girls in full uniforms, pays for field maintenance and permits, and equips teams with all the necessary gear.
"HGSA teaches the girls to play but also cultivates teamwork, self-confidence, and hard work," said Agostini. "Through playing on a team, they are building life skills that will benefit them wherever they go."
MyBinding.com has been a sponsor of HGSA since 2007. Many years, they go over and above the required sponsorship by doing a private fundraiser and giving extra support. Any extra funds donated to the softball association supports the tournaments, provides food for umpires, purchases supplies, and more. At the end of every year, two outgoing seniors are also awarded a scholarship for college, paid for by sponsorship. MyBinding.com generously supports five teams, one of the many ways they give back to their local community.
