MyBinding.com Aspires to Collect 2,500 Pounds of Food for the Oregon Food Bank
MyBinding.com, a division of Information Management Services, LCC, is looking to raise the bar when it comes to food donations
HILLSBORO, OR, NOVEMBER 1, 2011 – MyBinding.com, one of the nation’s leading Internet retailers of document finishing equipment and supplies, has started a food drive to assist the Oregon Food Bank during the 2011 holiday season. The food drive starts on November 1 and goes until November 23. MyBinding.com employees are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items and the company hopes to collect an unprecedented 2,500 pounds of food during the drive.
“Our company is always looking for ways to give back to the community,” said Jeff McRitchie, Vice-President of Marketing for MyBinding.com. “And what better way than donating more than 2,000 pounds of food?”
MyBinding.com employees have been encouraged to bring in food items such as boxed meals, peanut butter, dry pasta, and canned vegetables. The company is encouraging its workers by promising an in-office pizza party if the donation goal is reached. Also, the company has been divided up into five teams according to department: Administrative, Accounting, Marketing, Sales, and Warehouse. The department that brings in the most food will receive $300.00, to be evenly split among its members.
“We wanted to have fun with this food drive and get a little bit of healthy competition going on,” said Kristana Fruci, MyBinding.com’s General Services Administration Specialist who is overseeing the event. “It’s for a good cause, so we know everyone will help out.”
MyBinding.com representatives plan to deliver the food to the Oregon Food Bank’s westside location in Beaverton, Oregon, when the drive is finished.
“Donating a lot of food to the Oregon Food Bank is a great way to help out, especially with the holidays on the way,” said McRitchie. “It’s great that we have the chance to support a good cause during these rough economic times.”
